At Elite Compliance, we provide critical overflow resources to Councils including Building Consent Authorities (BCAs) and Territorial Authorities’ (TA’s) across New Zealand. Our team plays a vital role in keeping construction moving, clearing backlogs, and ensuring statutory timeframes are met without ever compromising on quality or safety.
We are always looking for experienced, technically skilled Building Consent Processors and Building Inspectors to join our team. The Role
As part of our overflow resource team, you will act as a seamless extension of our partner councils. Depending on your specialty (Processing / Inspections or both), your core responsibilities will include:
- Assessing and processing building consent applications in strict accordance with the Building Act 2004, the New Zealand Building Code, and associated regulations.
- Conducting thorough on-site or remote building inspections to ensure construction complies with consented plans (for Inspection roles).
- Providing clear, practical, and well-reasoned technical decisions and accurately recording your findings.
- Identifying compliance issues early and communicating effectively with council teams, homeowners, and industry professionals.
- Maintaining a high standard of audit readiness and upholding the Quality Management Systems of our partner BCAs.
What We Are Looking For
To seamlessly integrate with our council partners, successful candidates must meet the following technical requirements:
- BCA Experience: A minimum of 2+ years of proven experience working within the New Zealand regulatory environment.
- Competency: A current or recent Competency Assessment (e.g., Residential R1-R3 or Commercial C1-C3).
- Qualifications: A technical qualification that meets the requirements of Regulation 18 of the Building (Accreditation of Building Consent Authorities) Regulations 2006 (or currently working toward one).
- Technical Knowledge: An in-depth understanding of the NZ Building Code, Acceptable Solutions, and Verification Methods.
- Systems Literacy: Comfortable adapting to various council software environments (Objective Build, GoGet, MagiQ, etc.).
- Licensing: A full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence (essential for field inspectors).
